We partner with the National Retail Federation as well as several design schools such as FIT, Pratt Institute, Parsons School of Design, and when appropriate, we attend other college career events. ĭo you attend trade shows, conferences, or college career events where candidates might have a chance to network with you? Our dynamic, tireless recruiting team is always networking, monitoring candidates who visit our careers page, and we are fortunate enough to meet many interested candidates from various industries with relevant experience.

We are also proud of our associate referral program as it continues to be a driver of high-quality candidates. We look internally when an opportunity arises. Our largest source of candidates is our own associate population. And tell us your favorite product and why. We hope a candidate has visited our stores to better understand our unique in-store experience from interacting with our shopkeepers, shopping our robust assortment, and understanding how we are unique to other brands. In addition, we expect candidates to be aware of how we connect with our customers on social media, through our blog, and individual store Facebook pages. Our expectation is that a candidate has a broader sense of our brand outside our product offerings. What do you expect candidates to know about West Elm before an interview? This year, we also announced our new office furniture line, West Elm Workspace. and Canada, and by the end of the year, we'll have 83 retail locations globally. In 2015 alone, we have opened 15 new stores across the U.S. We are a rapidly growing company, and we hire on a rolling basis driven by the need of the business. What areas of the company are growing fastest right now? We look for candidates who bring a point of view and the desire to make an impact, are passionate about home, and have enthusiasm for our brand.

It was the first home retailer to offer Fair Trade Certified products – with a goal of having 20 percent of its inventory certified Fair Trade by 2017 –– and it carries merchandise by local artists and craftsmen in all its stores.

Since its inception, the company has placed sustainability and community high on its list of priorities. This year, it launched West Elm Workspace, a collection of furniture and decor dedicated to the home office. The brand has since expanded to 80 retail stores in the U.S., Australia, Canada, and the U.K. The home decor and accessories company offered modern, architectural designs, bright, bold textiles, and handcrafted furniture made from reclaimed materials - all at a price point local residents could actually afford.
